Classification of keyboards
1. Mechanical keyboards use similar metal contact switches. The working principle is to make the contacts turn on or off. It has the characteristics of simple process, high noise, easy maintenance, strong sense of rhythm when typing, and long-term use. The feel will not change.
2. The plastic membrane keyboard (Membrane) is divided into four layers inside, which realizes no mechanical wear. Its characteristics are low price, low noise and low cost, but the feel will change after long-term use due to material problems. Has occupied most of the market share.
3. The structure of the conductive rubber keyboard (Conductive Rubber) contacts is connected by conductive rubber. There is a layer of raised conductive rubber inside the keyboard, each key corresponds to a protrusion, and the contacts below are connected when pressed. This type of keyboard is a transition product in the market from mechanical keyboards to membrane keyboards.
4. Contactless electrostatic capacitive keyboards (Capacitives) use a principle similar to a capacitive switch. By changing the distance between the electrodes when pressing a key, the capacitance is changed to drive the encoder. It is characterized by no wear and good sealing.
